Organizational behavior + national and organizational culture

Organizational behavior is individual behavior and group interactions, besides it concerns about psychosocial, interpersonal and behavioral dynamics in organizations.

Two perspectives to understand human behavior: the internal one that is based on personal value system, referring to people are best understood from the inside, and their behavior is the mirror of thoughts, feelings, perceiving and judging.

The external perspective is based on factors outside the person, which means people are best understood by explaining the surrounding events and environmental forces. To sum up behavior is a function of person and environment.
It must be taken into account the human behavior and organizational context in order to grasp organizational behavior as a whole.
Organizations count with four main internal components:
- Task: Mission, vision, purpose or goal for existing of the organization.
-  People: are the human resources of the organization.
- Technology: are the wide range of tools, knowledge and techniques used to transform the inputs into outputs.
- Structure: It is the systems of communication, the systems of authority and the systems of workflow

Besides, the organization as a system also has external tasks such as suppliers, customers and federal regulations.

Within the organization there is the formal organization which is the official, legitimate, and most visible part that enables people to think of organizations in logical and rational ways, and the informal organization is unofficial and less visible, it related to individuals of the organization.
The changes bring risk and opportunities for the structure, so that manager must be aware of globalization, workforce diversity and ethics

Culture influences in a organization: decision making, communications and structures  and relationships; however culture is the main factor, because exist other internal factors such as the organizational strategy and the personality of the chief executive officer (CEO) and the external like markets, competition, economic conditions, among others that could be more important that culture.

Culture is a set of values and the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one human group from another, based on that CEO’s can make predictions and identify uniformity of behavior of the certain group, moreover this forecast is not reliable due to it does not include environment, economic and others.
