Personality, perception and attribution + attitudes and values

Influence of manager’s expectation and behavior on targets, employees through organization.

Positive expectation not always enhance the target’s performance, perceiver’s thoughts affect their own behavior and also the target’s expectation and behavior.

For that manager’s values, belief and attitudes would really influence the subordinates’ behavior.
Depends on manager’s leadership, trait, skills and management style, workers would increase or decrease their motivation to accomplish goals, basically leader’s behavior inspired followers’ behavior in order to improve organizational performance.

Based on the “Pygmalion effect” made to aid workers, it is demonstrated that negative perceptions and behaviors towards local staff is presented, this is due to the aid workers high expectations, those which clearly crashed to frustration produced from the local environment and realizing that local counterparts do not have the same commitment.
Thus, this indicates that constant positive perception is a very important thing for successful management of people and organization operations. Besides the mental health is a huge value to have into account, because a healthy mind produces excellent working results.
According to the RBV theory, a firm that controls resources and capabilities can sustain its competitive advantage. However those two factors contain more different ranges of values, like intellectual capital, that is intangible assets.

As an illustration, resources are any production factors that are ready for the company, so that resources are independent, simple and static which is easy to identify them. Unlike that, capabilities are routines or a set of interacting routines which require social interactions, for that they are collective, complex and dynamic, due to these characteristics through their use they can be improved, because of their dynamic character.
Understand intellectual capital have become a huge problems for companies, despite it is a main task to care about, it is a intangible resource, whereby its identification, measurement and sometimes how it can be apply for the good of the organization.

Question

What is your perception of a Japanese aid worker before and after the talk with Yasuko? On what do you base your perception?

I must admit I did not have a previous background of many aid workers, perhaps I have placed those people in a stereotyping pattern, basically because you can think that they do aid work to help and enhance needy ones lives and only that purpose, but after the talk, I could realize that the this kind of job requires more than just passion and attitude, Yasuko told us some experiences that I might not wonder or could imagine before this, all the traveling, new knowledge opportunities, the chance to reach pretty different cultures and manners, and most relevant: a life project.
